Jared Leto gave Kanye West singing advice.

The 30 Seconds to Mars star has been collaborating with the rapper and advised the 'Stronger' hitmaker not to rap or use auto-tune - the electronic device used by the rapper on his album '808's and Heartbreak' to give his voice a smoother sound - when recording his vocals.

Jared - who was also joined by The Killers singer Brandon Flowers on 'Hurricane' - said: "This is Kanye singing. I happen to think he has a really great voice. I like his voice a lot. My favourite is when he sings, as opposed to rapping, and I told him that as well, that I really liked him as a singer. But the Auto-Tune thing doesn't really bug me."

Jared is thrilled with the trio's efforts and admits he was amazed that the collaboration came about.

He added to MTV news: "I had actually brought up the idea of working with Kanye some time ago, but it's pretty unbelievable that it actually happened.

"He came by here, he was here in the studio, and we did some initial kind of listening, and he did some singing, and we knew we needed to kind of follow up and finish things, so I went over to Hawaii with an engineer and a small crew, and we had a great time."

Michael Mayer, the Tony Award-winning director of "Spring Awakening," is adapting the album -- which sold 12 million copies worldwide and won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Record of the Year -- for the Berkeley Repertory Theatre on Green Day's home turf in California. The production will run September 4 through October 11 to open the company's 2009-10 season, with tickets now on sale for early performances at www.berkeleyrep.org.

Mayer and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong collaborated on the script for "American Idiot," which follows the working-class subjects of the album's songs -- including Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy and a female protagonist called Whatsername -- as they "express their individuality in a mass-media culture." The 19-member company will be choreographed by Olivier Award winner Steven Hoggett.

Armstrong said in a statement that Green Day has "been thinking of bringing 'American Idiot' to the stage but knew we needed to find the right partners ... We were so impressed with ('Spring Awakening') as well as (Mayer's) vision for 'American Idiot' that we knew we'd found the perfect collaborator." Having the musical staged by the Berkeley Rep, Armstrong noted, "was an obvious bonus."

The musical will make an already busy 2009 even more so for Green Day. The band is in the midst of a vinyl rollout of its entire catalogue, and its long-awaited follow-up to "American Idiot," another concept album called "21st Century Breakdown," will be released on May 15. Green Day is expected to start a North American tour supporting the album in July, with the reunited Blink-182 expected to open.

Green Day are to release their new album, "21st Century Breakdown", in May, the band have announced.

The follow-up to 2004's international best-seller "American Idiot" will be preceded by a single, "Know Your Enemy", which is out next month.

The record is reportedly split into three sections, entitled "Heroes And Cons", "Charlatans And Saints" and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades".

"21st Century Breakdown" is officially due for release on May 15.

30 Seconds To Mars may release their next album for free.

The band are currently finishing work on 'This Is War' and frontman Jared Leto admits they are considering allowing fans to have the record for nothing because the group never make any money from their CD sales.

Jared told Rock Sound magazine: "Anything can happen, you never know what the future will hold. Maybe we will just throw our new album on the internet and see if anybody wants to take it. We have never made a penny from selling a record anyway so why would it matter to us?''

Last summer, Virgin/EMI announced they were suing the group for $30 million for failing to deliver three albums on time according to the terms of their recording contract.

Blink-182 have reformed.

The trio - who split up in February 2005 - ended months of speculation about their future at the Grammy awards this weekend by confirming they are to record music together again.

The 'All The Small Things' hitmakers -Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker - were at the ceremony to present the Best Rock Album award and as they took to the stage, Tom said: "We used to play music together and we decided we're gonna be playing music together again."

Mark added: "Blink-182 is back!"

The group later confirmed their intentions in a statement on their official website.

It read: "To put it simply, we're back.

"We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy."

After the group went the separate ways in 2005, Mark and Travis went on to form +44 while Tom enjoyed success as frontman of Angels and Airwaves.

The band first sparked rumours of a reunion in November when it was revealed that they had put their bitter war of words behind them following Travis' near fatal plane crash in September.

Writing on his blog, Mark wrote: "In the midst of everything else that has happened lately, Tom, Travis and I have all spoken together, through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. They've all been great, very positive conversations. We're just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. It's a good thing."

Day 2.(didn’t have money to go for whole weekend)

IT WAS AMAZING.

But let’s start from beginning . Earls court is bloody huge but stages looked amazing -wherever you go you can see them with two big screens on each side for closer view.

So me and my dear daughter Oli arrived about hour late (In my husbands words I will probably be late even for my own funeral) just at the end of THE COLOUR FRED performance.

WE were not that interested in ENVY ON THE COAST and STATE RADIO so we decided to find some of Olis friends and have something to eat. So armed with pizzas and beer we sat down on the back and enjoyed Envy on the coast performance.

By the end of STATE RADIO we decided to make our way to second stage . STRIKE ANYWHERE were about to start on main stage so we found space right on the barrier for YOU ME AT SIX.

I have to admit I didn’t know Strike anywhere music so much but guys were great .

And then about half an hour later YOU ME AT SIX hit the stage and crowd around us exploded . I felt little bit old standing there with all the kids around me(average 16-18 year old) but I really didn’t care that much - I love their music and performance was amazing - they should play main stage .

BLACKOUT , SILVERSTEIN and ANTYFLAG were quite surprise for me .I didn’t know about them that much but I loved them. Antyflag reminded me so much of Green day -my second favourite band in whole world. Definitely worth further exploring their music.

GLASSJAW was a little bit disappointing - with all good reviews they were getting I expected more.

And then BILLY TALENT hit the stage . One word can describe him WOW-that guy has amazing voice and energy .

AND THEN 30 SECOND TO MARS CAME ON AND TOOK GIAN ON COMPLETELY NEW LEVEL OF MUSIC.

OOOOO MY GOD , WHERE TO START?

STAGE WAS AWESOME AND OPENING WAS MIND BLOWING AND THAT WAS JUST A START. I THINK I NEVER SCREAMED SO MUCH AND SO LOUD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE(I feel sorry for the people who were next to me haa haa)

STARTING WITH BEAUTIFUL LIE AND THEN PLAYED ATTACK,, STORY(my favourite song), KILL , FROM YESTERDAY, BUDHA FOR MARY AND FINISH WITH FANTASY . OF COURSE I SANG, OR BETTER WORD TO DESCRIBE IT, SCREAMED EVERY WORD OF EVERY SONG.

HALF WAY TROUGH "ATTACK" I HAD TO MOVE AT THE BACK BECAUSE MOSH PIT WAS FORMING JUST IN FRONT OF ME. IT WAS SO TEMPTING TO JUMP IN IT BUT I AM TOO OLD FOR THAT.

JARED LOOKED AMAZINGLY HOT OF COURSE AS WERE REST OF THE GUYS.

AND SHANNON IN KILT - SO SEXY .

WE WILL MISS YOU GUYS BUT AS JARRED SAID THEY HAVE TO MAKE A NEW RECORD AT SOME POINT- I HOPE THAT WE WON’T HAVE TO WAIT TOO LONG.

After waiting a few hours in rain and at one point even snow outside brixton carling academy me and my girls finally make our way inside.

Wet and frozen I coudn't wait for gig to start and we have to wait too long.

LA band Rooney opened it.I must admit I never heard of them but guys were ok.

Not long after them GC kicked of with "River" and it got better and better after that - mix of old and new songs,Benjis solo  performance and bands version of Cure love song that Joel said it is for his little girl(so cute to play song for his daughter) and closed with "Lifestile of..".

So great gig worth waiting for.

And of course there is allways one idiot in every gig that try to get on the stage.It took five security guys to stop him.Well done guys.
